C.J. Darlington, co-founder of TitleTrakk, is running a great series on her blog: She started a series of blog posts in which industry professionals (editors, agents, publicists, authors, etc.) share their responses to this question:
"If you could say one thing to aspiring novelists, what would you say?"
Melanie Wells: Write write write. And let people read your work. Toughen up and listen to what they have to say. They’re your readers, for crying out loud. You work for them.

That is great advice that I have actually been doing. I write poetry and short stories that praise and talk about GOD, my christian walk and various subjects. I have shared some of these projects with my co workers and family and they often tell me I am sitting on my talent and that I need to write a book. I have not received a negative comment about my work yet.
Hey Tricia. Thanks for posting my writing advice! Every writer needs a little encouragement - hopefully I can drop a penny in that fountain...
Peace - Melanie Wells
