A Scrupulous Writer

A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus:
1. What am I trying to say?
2. What words will express it?
3. What image or idiom will make it clearer?
4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect?

George Orwell, "Politics and the English Language", 1946
English essayist, novelist, & satirist (1903 - 1950)

Forgive me...But, I am still waiting for your final 4 of 35 things I need to know... I want to print it all out when final to add to my wall...Inspiration, if I do say. I wish I could say I have gotten further in achieving my writing goals. Alas, I have not. My Saturdays have been spent working and trying to keep my "head above water." Housework suffers VERY badly and family has been being good sports about it all. I feel I am about to lose my mind and keep looking to God for His wisdom on how to survive. Sunday is my only reprieve and I have been using it as a day of rest. My pastor is even concerned about me, so have him praying for me too.

In Christ,
Jennie
