Questions, Questions, Questions...

I just want to thank you for the questions you all have sent in. And...I wanted to let you know that I will get them answered in upcoming newsletters.

I apologize for the delay. I've got back to back book projects and deadlines that just keep coming.

Thank you all so much for your participation at this site and for making it a community! I love it!

Hey! I contacted my old instructor. He currently finished his first draft of a book he has been working on. He has a second cousin who is a member of ACFW. Will be keeping in touch with him. It is cool!

Okay, I finished another chapter in my book and finished typesetting Chapter 1. I think that is doing pretty good for today. Now, time for bed (just in case this notes the time I post it)

Hey Jen, what do you mean by typesetting? And what's the AFCW?

Congratulations on your progress! Way to go!

I haven't done any work on my book this week... life is just too crazy and I need to get on top of things here.

Christine - I start my rough draft on legal pads. Then, start typesetting to word document. That way a first edit (my own) can be done as I typeset. It may be a longer process. But, it has always been how I have done it so I can just scrawl down my thoughts as I go. Otherwise, I have a tendency to go back again and again as I type.
AFCW is American Christian Fiction Writers. Tricia encouraged me to check them out because they have an annual conference in Dallas and she told me it was good to become a member.
I know what you mean about being busy. Had most of my week like that.

Hey Jen, that's what I thought you meant but I just wanted to double check. I used to do that but I'm so out of practice with longhand now that it's just too slow. What I do is just type out the story as quickly as I can, and then the next day I re-read what I wrote and make just a few changes here and there - just the gross, obvious errors - and then pick up where I left off. Isn't it funny how we all have our different methods?

My house is such a disaster I can't ignore it anymore. The dust bunnies are threatening to take over! LOL! And my Dear Son is getting to be so demanding lately that if I don't get my writing done before 7:30 a.m., it's not going to get done. He's just bored and wants me to play with him.

Oh! A young one???

I do most of my writing after 9 p.m. I am not a morning person... My keychains explain the declaration in terms easy to understand. "I am really quite a pleasant person until I wake up" and "Not a morning person doesn't begin to cover it!"

I agree writing styles differ greatly. We are all unique and I love that what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. Funny thing... some of my best stories for the paper come when I am least inspired. :) I receive the fewest corrections when that happens. LOL.I sit at my keyboard, thinking "I just don't know how I am gonna pull this story together before deadline." I turn it in after writing it and my editor hasn't failed to ask "What was with this morning? You only had one error on one of your four stories!" I shrug and tell him "It must be the cobwebs. Because I really wasn't fully awake and didn't think I could even crank any of those stories out."
