Okay, so a first draft of a first chapter has been completed and I am trying to get the opinions of some avid readers within my circle of friends. Is this a good technique to use? I have begun the second chapter and need to set aside more time, as it has gone slightly slower. But, it is a start to building on a love I set aside years ago...
Thanks for this Tozer quote--it's a good reminder to meet our audience where they are.
I had a goal of starting an article today for a homeschool publication. I have it well underway.

Anonymous, I just want to respond to your question since I'm just starting out and did the same thing a couple of years ago. What happened to me was that talking about my ideas to other people "killed the mojo" and I got confused and discouraged about it since they had different ideas or were not as enthusiastic about certain parts as I was. I never did finish the book. This time I'm trying really hard to reign in my enthusiasm and save it for the printed page until the first draft is complete and I feel ready to receive criticism. I feel like I'm sheltering "a candle in the wind" here. But that was just my experience.
